I was over in Dublin yesterday visiting Irish Distillers (home of Jameson Whiskey) and by the time I got from the airport to their offices I was feeling pretty down in the dumps - the taxi driver was full of doom and gloom about the Irish economy and his car radio seemed to be spouting a constant stream of bad economic data. However, after an hour with the people at Jameson, who are just as friendly and warm as their whiskey, I felt completely uplifted - what a fantastic success story this brand is - we've been involved with Jameson in one way or another for about 12 years and it has gone from strength to strength (I'm not claiming any credit!). Although they are obviously struggling in their domestic market, they are going great guns in other parts of the world, especially in the States. So here is a truly international Irish brand which wraps up all those wonderful brand values of Ireland in to a smooth glass of whiskey.
