I went to see the movie The Social Network last night - it's the movie about Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook and the world's youngest billionaire. It's a fascinating movie and well worth seeing. I think it captures the zeitgeist in the same way the original Wall Street captured the spirit of the late 80's and gave us Gordon Gekko, who although an anti-hero in the film became the pin-up boy for investment bankers the world over.
Although of course not a fictional character like Gekko, Mark Zuckerberg is portrayed as a pretty contemptible, selfish, loathsome geek, albeit one who is a programming genius but I have a feeling that many a young wannabee internet billionaire will see him as an admirable role model.
