Web founder has a pop at Facebook


The world wide web went live, on Tim Berners-Lee's physical desktop in Geneva, Switzerland, in December 1990. It consisted of one Web site and one browser, which happened to be on the same computer. The simple setup demonstrated a profound concept: that any person could share information with anyone else, anywhere. Now in this article in Scientific American he has a pop at the walled garden which is Facebook but also at governments to ensure that web remains open and free. It's a long article but worth a read
