Brazil loves Facebook, online and off

It says 1059 people following
I spend a lot of time in Brazil and when you mentioned Facebook to most Brazilians two or three years ago, you were met by a pretty blank stare - Orkut, owned by Google was the prevalent social network and it simply hadn't grabbed people's imagination in the same way Facebook had elsewhere in the world. But now it's a very different story - Brazil have become the second largest users of Facebook on the planet and the fastest growing. Social networking is a natural fit with the gregarious, outward going Brazilian personality, and now I don't know a Brazilian who is not on it. I was particularly interested therefore to come across this story on www.springwise.com about Brazilian retailer C&A, which is combining online Likes for their fashion range, with real world bricks and mortar digital readouts in-store on coat hangers. First time I've seen anything like it - the video below (in Portugese) tells women that now when they can't make up their mind, Facebook Likes can help them make the ideal choice.
