One of my favourite business books is Good to Great by Jim Collins, www. jimcollins.com and I'm just re-reading it. He looks in detail over a five year period at what turns good companies in to truly great companies. And this is one of my favourite quotes about what happens at a key transition point for great companies.

“We found, instead, that they first got the right people on the bus, the wrong people off the bus, and the right people in the right seats. And then they figured out where to drive it.

In the end we never quite know where the bus is going but if you have the right people on board it makes it a hell of a lot easier to get there.
