I thought I'd write a bit more about the Digital Content New Front conference which I attended last week and give links to some of the speakers and their projects. The conference is designed to bring together content creators, distributors, talent and brands to harness digital creative media opportunities in a 'post-advertising' marketplace. The theme of this year's conference was 'Fandomonium', which was defined as: unrestrained exuberance that results from building community around content and creating content around community. Stand-up comedienne, Daphne Brogdon hosted the conference and is also creator of www.coolmom.com. One of the best pitches was done by Amy Brennerman, star of NYPD Blue, Judging Amy and Private Practice; her pitch was for a new web show called The Procrastinators. Will it get taken up by any brands? Probably, she's a very professional lady with bags of talent. Seth Green (Dr Evil's son) pitched Urule, a kind of Truman Show except that Truman is a willing volunteer. Lisa Kudrow talked about her web series Web Therapy, which is now going on to TV. Terri Hatcher spoke about her website www.gethatched.com. And even Shaq wants a web series.
