
Do you get the feeling that advances in technology are moving so fast that you just can't keep up? Well I get the feeling most marketing departments do. "What should we be doing on Facebook? What should we be putting out on YouTube? What kind of branded content should we be putting out there? Do we need a YouTube channel? How do we work with celebrity vloggers? How do we create original online content? What should it be?"
For many marketers it has become a scary world where they are permanently behind the curve and one step off the pace (and for many agencies too). But the really scary thing is it's not getting any slower, there will be no stop for a breather to get your head round it, in fact according to many pundits, advances in technology will simply lead to further advances happening faster and faster. So what do we do?
Well I guess the first thing is not to panic? Then try and get a headset on which is all about embracing the new. Then be prepared to experiment. Then recognise there is no one out there who 'gets it' - from Mark Zuckerberg to Bill Gates. It is simply happening too fast.
So relax, take a deep breath and try and enjoy the ride!
