I'm just back from Brazil and I was interested to note that Facebook is starting to get far more traction there. Orkut www.orkut.com, which is Google's big social success story, has until now been the dominant social network in Brazil but it would seem that the all powerful Facebook is starting to make inroads in to this market. And although my research is anecdotal - guests I talked to at a wedding - it certainly has gained much greater awareness. As Mark Zuckerberg recently said, "A billon friends is a given". Obviously quite a few of them are going to be Brazilian.
