So much social - so little time

I guess we are all curators as we go about the web - we choose what to digest, what to share, what to engage with, what to create.  And of course there are many places we can do that - Flickr, YouTube, blogs, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+, Tumblr - the list goes on and on. In their own individual way they are all about curating stuff but what about curation across all of these social sites, so you can create one story. Well that's where Storify comes in and I think it may be a winner. It allows you to search and grab stuff from all of these sites and more, and pull together one story about whatever you want. Tweets, videos, blogs, photos from Flickr and content from Facebook. As with so much new development on the web, you sign in using Facebook or Twitter and I've just had my first attempt at doing it and I chose Storify as my subject - you can see it here. It's pretty simple to use and I'm sure with a bit of practice and more than five minutes to do it, I can do something a little more exciting. To create something like Storify is technically challenging as none of these social sites speak to each other in technical software terms but they seem to have made a great stab at it and I'm sure we are going to see more of this 'curation' as our lives are increasingly spread across the social web
